AYISI.

Ayisi is a term in Igala land used to describe festivals for the purpose of celebration and protection from negative spirits (oju mele).

Merging this cultural thought process with religious iconography will hopefully challenge viewers to engage with these underpinned themes and give them new experiences.

I have designed an installation to be placed in a kayak reserve that will use basic structural elements i.e. beams, as a medium to create a space for meditation and inter-ethnic recreation.
