'Ghar' is a shot film I directed and animated as my Graduation Project at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
The font for 'Ghar' was created to complement the narrative and style of the overall film. The film is about a girl visiting her abandoned childhood home in present day Gujarat. The themes of the film include nostalgia, comfort, loss of childhood.
The inspiration came from early Gujarati typefaces as seen in old calendars and magazines.
The word disintegrates like sand in the wind to show the impermanence of the memories and the house that the character is visiting.
