Nabiha + Thom are showing new works from their mythical and colourful work cycle Metamorphoses
They are known for their longterm project UNITY, a visual diary in double-selfportraits, for which they have been nominated for the Bremen Award for Fine Arts in 2006. UNITY has not only been presented in many exhibitions, but in 2010 also in the GEO International edition. Both artists are fascinated by the concept of the self as a lifelong process of change.
In their newest works Nabiha + Thom again confront the fine line between artistic fusion and differentiation of individuality. In their photographic parallel universes one image brings out the depth of the next. The underlying components were shot during their travelling. Metamorphoses mostly includes motifs from nature translated into dream-like visions, where reality is lifted onto a surreal level by a combination of colours, textures and anthropomorphic elements. The large-scale works in this panopticon are mounted behind non-reflective museum glass and are characterized by their depth and color brilliance.
