Brief: To investigate how image, text and structure combine to provide meaning in the graphic language of design. 

 

Chosen art piece is a tensgrity structure by Buck Minster Fuller and we are tasked to create a printed presentation to be possibly displayed at V&A. I was then inspired to work on Bucky's famous geodesic dome design and develop my contextual material further. Research has shown that Bucky was rather radical with his architectural ideas and theories about the world.

I associated this with counter cultures like hippie 60s and thought of Whole Earth Catalog where it is a guide on how to access to tools for survival. I decided to create a spin off and came up with the idea of Bucky's World Catalog. It will be Bucky's guide for today's success. "Human beings are designed to success." The result is a hippie and cosmic concept with the illustrated geodesic dome to portay a whole new world within Bucky's wisdom, idealogies and thinking.
