Pledum 2024

Pledum 2024 – how we created fun merch with the symbol of the year

New Year merchandise at Plenum is an annual task – ideas for it are born in autumn, and then we thoughtfully search for a cool visual solution. This year, gifts for clients turned into a real challenge – we took the symbol of the year as a basis and decided to make a thing that would remain relevant even after 2024.

Okay, challenge accepted. We're searching for a cool look. The symbol of the new year is a green wooden dragon, or in Russian – Gorynych. Mixing Eastern culture and Slavic mythology helped us to rethink the classic Chinese image and added new facets: Gorynych in Russian fairy tales is persistent and invincible. A real amulet and a reminder that it is possible to cope with any difficulties, which we all need sometimes.

Next up was the choice of the object. Despite the main idea of a cross-cultural dragon, we still wanted to make the merch warm and cosy, but not too seasonal. So that it would be needed in any situation. Like a plaid. In the process of creative storming the plaid turned into Pledum from Plenum and we realised that this was it!

Our perfect merch formula is the following: 6 merch-lovers, 263 000 m of yarn, 1 great manufacturing partner, 2 week for design.

Of course, the most gratifying thing is to receive such feedback from our clients and partners:
