BENETTON | hyper-reality: an innovation retail experience
For the Opening Soon Exhibition, sponsored by United Colors of Benetton, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) selected the best of both graduate and undergraduate students from seven majors within four schools (Communication, Design, Fashion, and Architecture) and asked them to collaborate in cross-disciplinary groups to create an innovative retail experience, one that reflects our vision of the future of retail.

CONCEPT | hyper-reality

Incorporating ultimate consumer consciousness, which is essential to the Benetton brand, we gave the customer the power to influence their surroundings both within the actual retail space, as well as within the virtual retail environment. Through interactive mirror displays, store themes can be chosen or created, photos can be uploaded, and merchandise can be experienced virtually. Handing this kind of power to the consumer poses a risk to traditional corporate structures.
