Hong Kong, an extreme complexity where people adapt, negotiate and coexist. The challenging living conditions have made the city a global testing ground.

“If it works here, it works anywhere else.”
Super tight homes, double-deckers, and interlocking bridges — tightness serving as both a limitation and an opportunity.

This proposal reimagined the retail industry as a testing ground, an idea incubator for anyone to design, manufacture and test a spectrum of creations, from handicrafts, fashion, interiors to architectural prototypes. The interventions gradually take over this testing ground, mirroring the organic process of place-finding in cities, growing from 0% to 100%, and even beyond to 120%.
Situated on the former airport in Kai Tak, the reclaimed land once was a sea becomes a place for growth, adaptation and evolution.

Sculpted by constant movements, the city serves as an archive of Hong Kong culture. As new interventions overlay memories of Kowloon City, it transforms into a maze of time and space where chaos unfolds wall-to-wall.
