Objective:
To Roto(trace) the person in the footage

Techniques used:
Mocha/Planar 2D Tracking.
Point Tracking.
Foreground & Background seperation.
Open curves for hair.
Power Matte Node.

Tool Used:
Silhouette.

Challenges:
Camera movement and tracking.
Tiny hair movements need to be covered with open curves.
The background is defocused, which will be challenging to track.
The idea is to separate the foreground, which is the person from the background.

I used the Power Matte node this technique and first created multiple shapes for the person.
Then I tracked them using Mocha Tracker integrated in Silhouette.
This greatly reduces the time.
The shapes hold on to the pixels thus rotoscoping the particular shape on the person.

After that I created shapes for the background and tracked them using Mocha tracker.
Now both the shape sets are dividing the person from background.

The problem was the border, where tiny hairs were to be separated from the background.

So, I added a lot of OPEN CURVES around the head of the person and tiny little CLOSED SHAPES and defined them as Background.
Thus, creating a perfect Alpha Matte isolating the person.
To show the output clearly, I added a COLOR node for the Background color.
Here is the quick before and after.
