The concept of the exhibition
In the topic of Big Data, I was interested in exploring the virtual world consisting of information that flows into the network. In my project, I take as a basis several familiar spaces and deconstruct them in connection with the data and digital artifacts that reflect these places in the parallel world of Big Data. I am replacing familiar material structures with digital ones, thereby creating new spaces and new views of familiar places.
In order to achieve the fusion of two realities, I tried to create the "correct" version of the selected space using the application. I have strengthened the "bugs" that occurred during the scan. One of the main techniques was repetition / copying — it is a kind of symbol of digital reality. Next, I put together a graphical database of various interfaces and combined it with the existing picture.
The final series features 5 familiar spaces: a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, a classroom, and a subway car. In my opinion, the most frequent and typified interaction with the online world takes place in these rooms.
My idea for the exhibition is to create massive structures installed at the level of a person's gaze, into which he will be able to "immerse himself" in digital reality as if through a portal. The illustrations are applied to plastic "shields" of chaotic shapes, embodying the fracture of the shell separating us from this new world. The bases for the structures are made of metal and resemble building fittings.
