Bidar's architectural narratives- A guidebook & website

Unraveling Bidar's Architectural History within Bidar University's Essence

Over the recent months, our team of six public space design practitioners worked on reinventing the University experience in Bidar. This journey culminated in the creation of a simple yet insightful architectural and design guidebook, reflecting our diverse backgrounds and a collective commitment to ethical and sensitive design. In this book, we share our experiences in integrating emotions, materials, heritage, language, motifs, and passive lighting and ventilation into the architecture of Bidar University.

Our endeavor
was enriched by the city's deep historical and cultural fabric, which we came to appreciate during our study tours in Bidar. These experiences quietly informed our recommendations, all aimed at harmonizing the university's ambiance with the cultural nuances of Bidar. Rooted in empathy and environmental respect, this guidebook is our contribution to creating an inclusive and culturally mindful learning environment.

On an individual level, I explored Bidar's vernacular architecture, focusing on the use of local resources and traditions to address regional building needs. By analyzing Bidar's vernacular architecture, the goal is to try and design climate and culture-sensitive structures after acquiring insights about passive design methods for cooling. My focus is on reducing the University's environmental impact by minimizing energy consumption. Inspired by Bidar's historical buildings, I aim to implement time-tested passive design strategies to maintain comfortable indoor conditions without heavy reliance on electricity.

I've presented my research in the form of a website.
