Project: Design Collaboration Studio 3, UNSW (Graduation Project)
Timeline: 10 Weeks Research/Ideation + 10 Weeks Design (February - August 2023)
Design Brief:
Develop a major capstone project of your choice across two terms (4 months), utilising applied research, investigation and reflection on the nature of contemporary design practice to inform your self-initiated project. It is expected that the project will reflect on and map your disciplinary specialisations, projects, interests and skills to work toward an appropriate and practical outcome and portfolio piece upon completion.
Concept:
U Connect was designed to aid university graduates as they take their first step into building their professional career. It provides them with opportunities to connect with professional mentors in their chosen field and industry so as to ease their transition to the workforce. With this app, graduates can gain insight into their chosen industry, start building their network and connections, practise their interview skills, share their experiences with other graduates, and get the guidance they need as they start the next stage of their life.
Target Audience:
University students and graduates and mentors.
Design:
Below is a video animation demonstrating the functions of this app along with a slide deck I created as part of this graduation project. This slide deck includes mock-ups of the final design, the concept behind it, visual identity and wireframe developments, the brand identity of the app, along with my thoughts and reflection upon completion.
