6 Creative Strategies ART235 P1

In ART235 Graphic Design, I learned about 6 creative strategies that help a design come to life. My goal for this project was to take an everyday object that serves a purpose and create images that used the 6 creative strategies which are combination/juxtaposition, isolation, metaphor or simile, change of context or environment, physical/shape similarity, and material change/swap/focus. Photoshop was used to create each image and used brushes, blending modes, drop shadow effects, selecting and deselecting, hue and saturation adjustments, as well as Photoshop's AI feature.
This combination of the spoon and a measuring tape give us a measuring spoon in an unordinary way. These are two unrelated objects that when combined, create a clever play on words.
The spoon is isolated from anything else, for what seems like miles. You wouldn't normally see a spoon out in the snow on purpose, let alone digging its own path.
The woman is looking at herself on the convex side of the spoon. She is seeing a warped version of herself which is emphasizing the names she has been called.
A spoon stirs, but it wouldn't typically be used to do the laundry. The bubbles were added via Photoshop's AI feature and the color was adjusted as well as the opacity to give the effect of water.
The spoon and the tulip have a very similar shape. Using blending modes helped to meld the flower and the spoon together.
This is a spoonbilled bird. I changed the bird's actual bill for an actual spoon.
