I prefer direct light more than indirect light because it could light up my subject so it could stand out. I learned that indirect light is better for portrait for a person and direct light is better for objects. For me personally, I think it was easier for me to take photos of object in direct light more than people in indirect lights. The second photo I was aiming for a concentrated and serious emotion that can be easily seen by the facial express of the main subject.
