In the 70’s and 80’s, Pierre Toutain-Dorbec, covered the war in Cambodia following both communist Khmer Rouges and anticommunist Khmer Serei guerilla forces. His photography captured the brutal realities of war, but also the humanity and resilience of the people who lived through it. Toutain-Dorbec's images are a powerful testament to the devastating impact of war on individuals and communities, and his work has had a lasting impact on the way we view the Cambodian conflict.
A collection of Toutain-Dorbec photos on the Cambodian Civil War is archived at Rutgers University.
