Project 9: Google Reskin
Happy Easter y’all! Hope its a good one! So for this project, I pretty much had no idea where to start. It’s been a while since I’ve been in the web game and on top of that, redesigning a website that I think works great  was a tough task for me to wrap my mind around.
So, naturally, I asked some of my friends, both Mac and PC users, what they wanted from their Google. And interestingly enough, I found what I needed from users of Android phones. All that research from those people can be summed up pretty well by what my best friend Amy said.
"I love how it knows my life"
She told me all these cool things that Google for Android does that I wish could do with one app let alone across all of my devices.
So basically I made Google like a personal dashboard. You have your apps to your right that includes notifications to tell you whether you are missing your TV show, what you have on your schedule and how many emails you have. They are all customizable so you don’t have any required apps and then some free spaces; you can customize everything on your dashboard. In my perfect google world, there would be apps or tabs for every hobby, so I added a Movie tab that lets you track and save what movies are coming out and which ones I want to make sure I don’t miss in theaters.
They are fixed and will always be on the side of the screen as long as you are on a Google page. You can click them to pull them out to reveal all your information. Or you can chose to hide all if need be.
The last feature I added was that when you search, not only does it search the web, it also searches your dashboard in case you need to find something you have archived quickly.
Hope you like it!
