Designed for busy creative clients with energetic children, this light-filled loft renovation is minimal and open, to maximize space and maintain a purity of form. After establishing a clear direction for the loft floor plan, the challenge, as is common in most San Francisco homes, became one of access. Following the minimal design direction, a delicate white powder-coated steel stair with oak treads winds its way up the loft from the existing level two corridor. Skylights were introduced the the attic to fill the space with light and add ventilation.
