'I was born in Japan and grew up in a traditional Korean family where my grandfather kept a family tree that was treasured for 32 generations, but it only included the names of male descendants and no daughters.
In my art, I have always tried to honor women and the crafts they once made.
These heart sculptures are made of embroidery, hand-woven tapestries and paper pastes to identify and commemorate the woman's anonymous domestic work behind the scenes, which not only represents her emotions, but also serves as a sacrifice or amulet to protect her. '
I find it's common that female are ignored behind the crafts in different country, I hope to let public see the person who make the beautiful crafts.
