Joint Living is a student accommodation brand in cities across the UK that puts the well-being of tenants at the centre of its offering. As part of a full rebrand, Studio Makgill commissioned us to develop and animate a suite of characters, that would sit within this new visual language. 

After sketching the initial characters and rendering them in Illustrator, we used Adobe After Effects to bring them to life and make them move, using predominantly shape layers. The biggest challenge was making the characters appeal to the student market and not too child-like in tone.

More recently, we created an animation featuring the playful Joint characters, to help promote Joint Living and share how the company helps students thrive.
