This sequence was created for a university project to add on to a company’s brand identity, specifically within the hospitality industry. For this assignment, I decided to choose the Hilton brand. Upon browsing their social media outlets, I discovered one specific communication problem that interested me; a lot of their videos don’t have tailor-made/attention-grabbing thumbnails of any kind (see below). While the video work itself is solid, consistent eye-catching video thumbnails are something that can be the difference between additional viewers/potential customers scrolling past or them clicking on the video and learning more. With this in mind, I decided to create a set of concept video thumbnails. These thumbnails feature a title summarizing each video, a background image with subtle visual effects, and a border to draw viewers’ attention to the center. My additions are simple, but allow Hilton to provide additional context, drive more attention to their content, and can be made into a consistent format.
