'Embakkam' children's book
'Embakkam' in Malayalam means burp. This book was an academic project. What started off as an awareness of colorism among nursery kids, discussions with my mentor lead to a simpler topic based on bodily sounds. A number of short poems were written to develope a story for kids based on a Malayaali household.
Burp is a natural body reaction and hence a very universal topic to both babies and adults, and it was chosen for this project as the central theme. Each burp belonging to each character is compared to something in the malayali context.
