PROJECT CONCEPT
This facility is designed to allow growth in diversity for low-income families in the Oklahoma City area. The representation of diversity throughout the space will be the selection of different textures and patterns. Creating spaces to allow the low-income families to have access to opportunities to prosper in life. Located in South of downtown Oklahoma City is the Casa Grande Community Center. The community center offers a variety of welcoming spaces for residence of Oklahoma to gather and socialize. Incorporating elements from the Scissortail Park into the space it allows nature to be seen within. A welcoming atmosphere will be created using hues of blues, greens and yellows along with a neutral color palette. Throughout the space wood tones, metals, curvilinear lines and patterns will provide more variety in the space. With this facility having high levels of foot traffic the finishes will be antimicrobial, scratch resistance and waterproof. Including a variety of natural lighting not only will help reduce energy usage but will be beneficial to the staff and community member’s health. Placing safety features and security systems throughout the space allows residents to have somewhere that they can go with their families and have an enjoyable time.
