Everyone’s heard about PACMAN, a simple video game that doesn’t have difficult rules and is amusing for people of  any age. The reason why I decided to make my project about PACMAN was exactly that - it’s a universal game, even though it was first released in the 90s still everyone enjoys playing it. In addition, it gives you wide perspectives, there’s many colors and textures you can use for a design. In my childhood I used to play PACMAN everyday, hence it’s nostalgic and it reminds me of my not so far childhood years.

My vision for this posters was to relieve PACMAN in today’s world and to illustrate its vibes and aesthetic in a sophisticated way.

The first poster is a minimalistic one, however you can still detect the game’s structure. I would say it briefly summarizes what PACMAN is about.
As for the second poster, I would say its main role is introducing the game and its history. The inspiration for this one was the Japanese aesthetic. Since PACMAN is a maze action video/arcade game based in Japan, I thought using the original names for our colorful ghosts would create that atmosphere. Still, I didn’t want to forget about the main character, so I decided to use yellow text and little illustrations too.
The third poster’s nature isn’t very kind. While I was working on this project, I read that if PACMAN is caught by a ghost, he loses a life; the game ends when all lives are lost. So, I wanted to express PACMAN’s frustration and madness.
The following poster’s aesthetic is much calmer. The inspiration for this one was retro style. Consoles were very popular back in the 90s, so I wanted to animate its charm. The background also creates a TV set- up visual.
And the last poster tells a story about the boy, who came to play PACMAN arcade and somehow got lost in its galaxy. I wanted to show late-night vibes and retro arcade gaming aesthetic. In order to not lose focus on PACMAN I displayed yellow text again.
Here are some mockups:)
