Market Research - Competitive Feature Analysis
The competitive feature analysis involves heavy market research in order to understand user behavior on Insurance and typical features that are used in other insurance apps in the market.
What are apps lacking?
1. Only able to login to the insurance products through a mobile browser, but not the app
2. A personalized lesson/course plan
3. A feature that held users accountable

What are people expecting?
1. A feature that allows user to track their claims & policy
2. Educational resources and articles about pet health, wellness, and care
3. Able to navigate every feature in the mobile app and have live agent chat
User Research & User Surveys
I conducted quantitative research by creating a survey that had users answer questions about their experience with Insurance

😟 88% of users rated they prefer a mobile app for Insurance

📉 44% of users who navigated insurance through mobile browsers have challenges with a lack of features/functionality

🗣️ 90% of users wanted educational resources and someone live agent to assist their inquiry
User Interviews

To obtain more detailed and comprehensive responses from users, I revised my initial survey questions to create interview inquiries that delve deeper into their motivations and reasoning. My aim was to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying factors influencing users' choices and decisions
Topics to address:
1. How frequently do you use the insurance mobile app?
2. What are the main features or functions of the app that you find most useful?
3. Have you encountered any challenges or difficulties while using the app?

4. If so, could you please describe them?
5. How would you rate the overall user interface and navigation of the app?
6. What improvements or additional features would you like to see in the app?
User Persona
The user persona serves as a valuable tool for designers and stakeholders to humanize and visualize the characteristics of the typical user. In my case, I developed a user persona named "Sarah" to represent my primary user.
The key consideration for this design:
1. Simple and Intuitive Navigation: A well-designed insurance app should have a clear and user-friendly navigation structure. Users should be able to access important features and information easily without confusion. A logical and intuitive flow helps users find what they need quickly.

2. Policy Purchasing and Renewal: The app should offer a straightforward and convenient process for users to purchase or renew insurance policies. Simplified forms, pre-filled information, and secure payment options can enhance the user experience during these transactions.

3. Notifications and Alerts: Timely notifications and alerts regarding policy renewals, payment due dates, claim updates, and other relevant information can improve user engagement. Customizable notification preferences enable users to receive information that matters to them.

4. Contact information for customer support, including phone numbers and email addresses.
Low-Fidelity Wireframe
Low-fidelity wireframe to facilitate quick and iterative design iterations, I utilized Figma to create my low-fidelity prototype. This approach helps designers avoid becoming overly attached to any specific design. During user testing, the prototype was generally easy to comprehend, although certain pages required improvements and increased clarity.
Hi-Fidelity Prototype - Kindly view my prototype by using computer/laptop
After completing the initial phase of the project, I progressed to develop the high-fidelity (hi-fi) prototype, encompassing the comprehensive and fully realized design. Below, you can find glimpses of the prototype, or alternatively, you can access the interactive Figma link provided below to explore it further.
