The Problem

WKCTC is now offering a new class, Life Prep, to ease their young students into adult life. They need a series of posters to hang around campus to promote this new course
The Approach

When initially brainstorming design ideas for this poster series, I immediately thought of the kind of flyers I would see around the halls at the Innovation Hub of Paducah Tilghman.

PTHS's website and brand often featured bold, defined sections of their iconic blue color. My mind immediately drew inspiration from these graphics as I associate them with academics.
These aforementioned flyers would usually have one or more photos of a student participating in an activity relevant to the contents of the poster.

Finally, I made two roughs of the general layout the four posters would follow. The one on the right would've featured little icons and a name above each image, but I opted for the one on the left as it was less busy.
The four posters would each maintain the same layout, but feature different images and a main color most appropriate for the set of images used.

The Solution

The final result of posters after applying the previous aspects of the concept phase. The colors are strong, bold, and have those big strips at the top and bottom. The graphics are strong, yet simple to let the images themselves do the most talking.
