Multi-Sector Collaboration Project in Valencia

Navigating Success: Spinnaker's Multi-Sector Collaboration Project in Valencia
In my first year at Spinnaker Efectos Navales S.L, I delved into the company's rental data and devised a strategy to bolster Charters and Experiences sales. Proposing the 'Collaboration Project' to the company, my idea gained approval, granting me the authority to assemble and lead a team for project initiation and coordination.

The core objective of this project was to cultivate collaboration between Spinnaker Efectos Navales S.L. (marine company in Valencia)  and local bike rental points, car rentals, and hotels in Valencia. Launched in September 2022 with a slated duration of 6 months, the project yielded over 100 successful collaborations.

In the initial stages, my team and I concurrently tackled practical tasks, encompassing the creation of professional posters, refinement of potential collaborator lists, development of visitation maps, and the enhancement of our database with owner preferences and feedback.

The strategic plan of the project unfolded in several key steps:

Information Gathering: Conducted a comprehensive survey of businesses in Valencia, focusing on the city center and the Malvarossa beach area.

Strategic Outreach: Implemented a targeted email campaign to initiate contact with bike & car rental shop owners, and hotels in Valencia showcasing the collaboration potential.

Personal Engagement: Undertook personalized phone conversations with businesses, providing detailed explanations of the project objectives.

On-site Visits: Executed on-site visits to businesses points, fostering face-to-face connections and understanding the unique dynamics of each location.
Post-collaboration, a proactive approach was adopted. Regular campaigns were sent to businesses, featuring personalized discounts of up to 40% on any nautical activities. This ongoing engagement aimed to nurture and strengthen the collaborative relationships established. Examples of these campaigns are available in the attached files, showcasing the tangible outcomes of the collaboration initiative.
Out of the collaborations pursued, a commendable 55% achieved success. However, it's imperative to acknowledge the factors leading to the refusal of collaboration by 45% of bike rental points. Primary issues included businesses seeking a higher commission rate, with some expressing a preference for at least 20%. Staff constraints, insufficient experience, and existing partnerships with companies in the same sector were additional contributing factors.

Despite these challenges, Spinnaker Efectos Navales S.L. expressed satisfaction with the overall project outcomes. The impact was notably reflected in the 2023 season, witnessing a substantial 61.33% increase in rental income. This surge was attributed to the collaborative project as businesses, now partnered, actively directed new clients towards Spinnaker, thereby contributing to the significant boost in rental revenue. The positive correlation between project success and increased income underscored the strategic value and effectiveness of the collaborative initiatives.
