"Capre Diem: An Exploration of PTSD Recovery"

In my graphic design thesis project, "Carpe Diem," I harness the potential of visual communication design to navigate the complexities of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Inspired by the Latin phrase "Seize the day!," the project employs a black and white palette to symbolize life's dichotomies. Linear and circular elements convey forward movement, while an interconnected room space with three partitions represents a patient's progression toward inner balance. Utilizing sound effects, visual stimuli, and poignant quotes, this immersive experience serves as visual art therapy, utilizing graphic design to communicate resilience and inspire a brighter future. Symbolism and hidden messages underscore the profound impact of graphic design in conveying narratives and fostering positive change. The deliberate selection of colors, symbols, and design elements highlights the project's commitment to leveraging graphic design's visual language for impactful storytelling and mental health advocacy.
