ART 230 - Project 3: Design a Poster

This poster design was created with the use of many design principles. These principles include, contrast, unity and variety, proximity, alignment, and scale contrast. Contrast was used in the design with the value contrast. The values used in the design create a lot of contrast between each other as well as from the background of the design. Unity and variety were used as colors were both varied and repeated. You can see each of the colors from the color scheme used throughout the entire design. This was also created as the glyphs at the bottom were repeated in groups with varying sizes and colors. Proximity is created as the shapes in the bottom of the design group together more, whereas the title stands individually. Alignment is created through the grid or framework the historical type and information adds. The type is aligned with each other in separate groupings. Finally, scale contrast is used in the design as different glyphs create differing sizes.
