This is a self portrait depicting what it's like to live with bipolar disorder. I am in the middle of a conflict between a screeching macaw--a representation of hypomania, and a blackbird that embodies depressive lows. I wanted to show in art how my life is like with this disorder, and how it feels as if I am stuck in the middle of it all.
