The Posca Paint pens opened up spontaneity in my junior spring. I didn’t feel like I had to be delicate with them, to make a great picture. On Sundays my roommate and I would doodle on the porch of our dormitory, and maybe the confines of Proctor academy pushed me to draw a rebellious teen lighting up a cig. I’m proud of this piece of work I did outside my academic art career, because it feels like a page out of an honest journal, something I did to decompress on a New Hampshire Sunday.
