Creative Director - Kid Powered Media (2012 - 2015)
As the Creative Director of Kid Powered Media (now Jumpspark), a Canadian Social Enterprise, I spearheaded the development of media-based programs in various parts of Delhi. Leveraging storytelling mediums such as filmmaking, street plays, and comic books, these initiatives aimed to raise awareness and address social issues affecting children in Delhi's slums. This role allowed me to intricately deploy my skills in storytelling, screenwriting, cinematography, and filmmaking to empower underprivileged children. By using creativity and fun, we engaged the children in crafting culturally relevant stories, enhancing their self-confidence and self-expression. The films, featuring the children both in front of and behind the camera, were showcased across slum communities in New Delhi, resonating with our target audience and proving to be an instant success.
Above: Mad about Khan, a film on the importance of washing your hands. A child who never washed his hands is also a huge fan of Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Upon learning of his hero's arrival in his school, me must battle all odds to shake his hands; but are they clean enough to make it possible?
Above: Queens of Delhi- When a teenage girl is sick of all the eve teasing in her community and fed up of no one helping her; she accidentally summons her hero, the ancient Indian Queen of Jhansi across time to help her navigate her gendered struggles.
Above: The Switch- A brother and sister, tired of everyday sexism and always finding their sibling to be leading an easier life, take a magic potion that switches their souls. Stuck in each other's body, they must now face the sexism they never knew existed for the other.
