Penguin Books wanted to rebrand Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous novel ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ in order to introduce horror novels to an audience that is younger than the usual classic novel readers. After studying the book I decided to approach the project by playing with the idea of the duality of human nature. My illustrations reflect this concept and I ended with overprinting two different sillouettes on top of the other in colours that are found on the opposite side of the colour wheel; red and blue.
