Mural for Dominican school Colegio Claret based in the moon phases and harmony.
I took the role of art director for this project.
We needed to develop an idea that represented the school whishes and our own. Being a christian school, we had to take into consideration the values and messages they wanted to communicate, like caring for others, the value of helping and overall making the world a better place for everyone. We came to the conclusion of having nature as one of the themes
I came up with a thumbnail that became the selected idea for the mural. I decided to go for a design that evokes peace and tranquility, and make it as a unique way to look at the world. It's a view of the planet being surrounded by the phases of the moon being represented as a lady, while the earth is lying on a mound of yellow flowers and petals representing the sun. My design was accepted by the public, and we went right into painting the mural.
It took us 45 days to complete from June 1st 2022 to July 15th 2022.
