Time ago, I was a foreign student living in São Paulo, Brazil. My hometown has an extremely rare climate and when arriving to this South American metropolis I thought this city had something quite similar with my city; Monterrey. So, I decided to merge the two "Scalas" of weather and therefore create a product that was Brazilian and Mexican simultaneously.

 

Scala is a DIY, two leveled table, which can be placed almost anywhere.

 

Measures are always represented someway, somehow. Inspired by the weather I decided to create a gap; a breach, that could generate similarity between two climates, two cultures, two cities, and two souls.

 

Here or there, we always have extreme climatic changes. Scala’s lower table can always move, causing the user to decide the final position of the peaks.

 

Perception plays an important role in the product. The product itself can’t be seen in a specific position; the product can be perceived from it’s back and be right.

 

Truth is, there is not real comparison between two weathers, if both climates are so dramatic they endure as a same climate. When we go through life’s tough, sharp and radical ways we usually think we’ve changed. What actually happens is that we don’t change; we just move on, and we’re still the same. Everybody and everything might change but we’ll stay.
