BookShelve Design

The inception of this project was at the request of the project architect, Mr. Shervin Athari. The client's request was for us to create a wooden and glass bookshelf with shelves, similar in design to the final product. One crucial aspect emphasized by the client was the importance of clean execution and connections. Our significant challenge in designing and constructing this project revolved around achieving a clean finish, concealing the joints of the pipes, and designing the pathways for electrical wiring for the lights, among other things.
To connect the columns to the floor, we welded a screw to a metal washer and created three holes for securing the washer. Inside the pipes (columns), we also welded a corresponding nut and placed a cap on top to conceal the work once completed. The advantage of this method is the ability to adjust the height and ensure the bookshelf is level.
To connect the shelves and cabinets to the columns, we CNC-cut a 3-millimeter-thick metal sheet and bent it. In designing this sheet, considerations were made for welding space, wire routing, and visual aesthetics.
