What Brings People Together
A Visual Story

Statement: I chose to represent the themes of food and happiness through the different images that create my visual story. I know that eating can be a struggle for some people, but I wanted to show the other side, that food has the ability to make people laugh and bring them together. In addition to this, during my process, I decided to to incorporate a series of smiley faces within the different images in order to portray the feeling of happiness and challenge myself with image composition. I also chose to make these images black and white with a strong contrast and high exposure because, usually happiness is portrayed in bright colors and I wanted to try and still invoke this feeling with the absence of color.
