Hello! A hearty welcome to my Surface Pattern Design project. When I feel quite satisfied with the overall motif arrangement of a pattern, for the next step I run it through a few color palettes. Here sharing the most compatible color variations – sorted out from the recoloring process. Compatible in that sense is as a whole, it reflects a cohesive look.
This project includes geometric Dahlia(ish) flowers in a solid, basic grid structure pattern. All flowers are in full bloom. The process of making these floral is not a rocket science. It’s the very basic magic of the ‘rotate’ tool of the Illustrator. I think everyone who has learned Illustrator, has made these and everyone who will learn, will make these!! The squares as the flower center instead of plain circles – a tiny tweak, however I felt really giggly while adding those. I hope you find the color variations enjoyable as much as I’ve enjoyed preparing them.
Don’t get me wrong. I understand the purpose of setting patterns on product mock-ups for visualization. It certainly has its own place in presentation. However, I love seeing pattern as a single spread too. They are like open ended questions that triggers imagination. Not sure if it’s only me or there exist others who might find it interesting as well!
