Here I want to show the process of the illustration creation.
This is an illustration I drew for the limerick by Edward Lear.
There was an Old Man on some rocks,
Who shut his wife up in a box;
When she said, 'Let me out!'
He exclaimed, 'Without doubt,
You will pass all your life in that box.'

First I sketched the ideas which I wanted to be extremely different. Some of them I drew digitally, some with gouache.
Then I chose the one I liked more and tried different colour contrasts:
