‘I really don’t know Guus Meeuwis or his song, but I like what you makin’ here. Can you guys build me a bike rack?’

For a show called Oneliners we were commissioned by the Graphic Design Festival Breda to create a typographic piece in a public area, regarding any subject we chose to consider.

When the local newspaper reported about a flood of noise complaints, we got our lead. People living nearby the building site of the new train station said the noise was too much to handle. We picked a spot next to the building site to create our piece.

We made a 2×5 meters in size object, using the words Kedeng Kedeng out of local singer -but nationally famous- Guus Meeuwis’ hit record. Referring to the noise as well as a cheeky homage to our much beloved Dutch singer. A small gesture to the people living nearby, letting them knows their complaints were heard.

Great guy
Guus loved it and came by personally to take a picture with us. Great guy!
