When Artist SHINDY approached me with the idea of bringing a theatrical vibe to Arena stages, i felt meeting a kindred spirit me being a hiphop kid from the 90s that became scenographer. I chose to create a simple yet versatile framing of the huge LED screens to convey the feeling of a classicistic storefront with extra large floral arrangements to the sides reflecting the theme of the album, IN MEINER BLÜTE/ IN MY BLOOM.
Keeping the image black and white and in a handdrawn, perspectival aesthetic, it evoked a lightness despite its size and easily adapted to the changing colors of the effectful and elaborate lights and the video live and preproduced. Adding classical SFX like fire and sparkling fountains, it gave an extraordinary experience that resonated on different levels with the audience. Always inviting other superstar guestperformers like SHIRIN DAVID, BUSHIDO and others it became a melting pot of contemporary Hip Hop. Thus we achieved an impression of a theatrical set in an Arena environment.
