Soroche

From the Quechua word surúchi, soroche is a common term used in some South American countries that refer to altitude sickness.
Although there are varied physical symptoms attributed to Soroche, it is generally understood as discomfort and fatigue that can last a few days upon arrival to high altitude spaces.

I chose to illustrate this word with an Otavalo girl as it is a representative and unique culture from the Ecuadorian highlands.
