110 Broadway Design and Development

The Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas(HHCTX) has opened new adminisrtative offices at 110 Broadway. The Center's mission is to champion Hispanic Heritage and legacy from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries in Texas.

In January 2014, HHCTX commissioned Texas Tejano.com to create architectural drawings and renderings. At the start of this process, we were provided inaccurate floorplans and dimensions from the building's owners. We then went in to measure for ourselves. From that we created new architectural floorplans and furniture layouts. The next step was to create elevations of every wall since there would be so many pieces hanging on the walls. We later designed all of the art that would go on the walls. I created all floorplans and elevations in Adobe Illustrator on an imac. Architectural direction provided by Rudi Rodriguez.

This was the first time I'd ever done anything like this. The experience of choosing wall and carpet colors/finishes was great. I also helped develop a budget for the furniture, then founf, chose and purchased the furniture.

Micro Museum
HHCTX wanted a space to show some history in, so they used the largest room to do this, effectively creating a micro museum. The museum features 6 freestanding exhibit panels which tell the history of Texas. In addition, the pieces on the walls tell the HHCTX's story and goals.
