To add diversity to the landscape we tried to set each area of the map a specific mood, with unique elements

--3d Breakdown--
The train is always visible on screen and therefore it almost makes it the main character of the game. To ensure texture quality, I used a workflow mixing baked textures (NM, AO, RGB masks) , trimsheets and tiling materials.
This workflow allowed us to iterate quickly in the engine and test a lot of color schemes for our train. We can easily change the color of the paint, emissive, their intensity...
Assets created for the project, I relied a lot on tiling textures and trimsheets to be efficient. Trees are from the Azure Nature pack.
A master material was created allowing control and variations between material instances, to speed up the texturing process.
