Sulaoja literally means open stream. 
It's water comes from one of the largest springs in Finland.
Sulaoja is about 500-600 meters long and it flows to Basijavri lake. 
The water is  3 °C around the year and the stream never freezes. 
Sulaoja spring and the stream are also ancient Sámi sacred places, and the source of the water is believed to have healing effects.  
 
The spring is located in Utsjoki municipality, Lapland , Finland.
The spring is in its natural state.
