Novus Calendar

Un calendario che cerca di stravolgere le regole dettate dai tradizionali e comuni calendari gregoriani. Lo scopo di questo calendario è quello di fornire una guida su come vivere e godersi quel periodo, della durata di un bimestre.

Sono stati sviluppati 6 principi guida che spiegano l'importanza di dover programmarsi e compiere azioni quotidiane utilizzando e adattando quel tema.

A calendar that tries to overturn the rules dictated by the traditional and common Gregorian calendars. The purpose of this calendar is to provide a guide on how to live and enjoy that period, which lasts for two months.
6 guiding principles have been developed that explain the importance of having to plan and perform daily actions using and adapting that theme.

La versione digitale indica, se disponibile, una ricorrenza che ricade in quella giornata invece degli usuali eventi come santi o feste. Questo calendario vuole fornirvi ricorrenze uniche che in pochi conoscono con lo scopo di divulgare conoscenza e consapevolezza di ciò che accade attorno a noi: anniversari, celebrazioni, giornate speciali che ci aiutano a soffermarci sull'importanza delle 24 ore che trascorriamo quotidianamente.
Segue una spiegazione minuziosa del tema: il motivo per il quale è stato scelto quel tema, cosa bisogna fare in quel periodo e perché bisogna farlo. La motivazione del tema scelto è fondamentalmente, quella di fornire il giusto incoraggiamento nei 60 giorni previsti.

The digital version indicates, if available, a recurrence that falls on that day instead of the usual events such as saints or feasts. This calendar wants to provide you with unique events that few know with the aim of spreading knowledge and awareness of what is happening around us: anniversaries, celebrations, special days that help us to reflect on the importance of the 24 hours we spend every day.
A detailed explanation of the theme follows: why that theme was chosen, what should be done at that time and why it should be done. The motivation of the chosen theme is basically, to provide the right encouragement in the 60 days provided.
Finally, there is the explanation of the chosen illustration with cute details and easter eggs

Ogni illustrazione è stata realizzata in modo da racchiudere gli eventi e i temi del relativo bimestre.

Lo stile adottato rispecchia la semplicità e l'espressività di ogni bimestre, senza aggiungere troppi dettagli irrilevanti. Ogni illustrazione contiene dei richiami espliciti a eventi o statistiche particolari.

Each illustration has been created in a way that encompasses the events and themes of the respective two-month period.
The style adopted reflects the simplicity and expressiveness of each two months, without adding too many irrelevant details. Each illustration contains explicit references to particular events or statistics.

Non puoi tornare indietro, devi viverti il presente e condurre il tuo futuro.

Come diceva George Braque, pochi possono dirsi: "Sono qui". La gente si cerca nel passato e si vede nel futuro.

Noi siamo il risultato di una continua metamorfosi in cui nulla va perduto, né del passato, né del presente, perché si sedimenta nel fondo della nostra coscienza rimodellando di continuo la nostra personalità, proiettata verso il futuro.
Proprio con questo concept in mente, terminato il bimestre non potrai vedere i temi passati.

With this concept in mind, you won’t be able to see past themes after the two-month period.

Questo calendario fornisce un carattere anche al luogo nel quale è stato progettato. Il sud Italia, Matera per la precisione, è la città perfetta per ripartire e innovare in questo ambito.

Questi luoghi sono pronti ad accogliere cambiamenti di ogni tipo.

Il concetto del tempo è diverso dall'ideale comune: il tempo rallenta e lascia spazio alle emozioni, agli attimi, alla quotidianità.

The concept of time is different from the common ideal: time slows down and leaves room for emotions, moments, everyday life.

L'idea di creare questo calendario è nata per un motivo abbastanza banale. Rientrando alla mia umile dimora, mi sono reso conto che sulla mia scrivania c'era un calendario di una farmacia. I classici calendari con mille informazioni poco utili ed esposte in modo disordinato. Al che, mi sono messo alla ricerca di un calendario che potesse sposarsi bene con lo stile generale del mio ufficio e della mia casa, ma la maggior parte dei calendari trovati erano poco motivanti, si limitavano semplicemente a fornire indicazioni per i 365 giorni dell'anno corrente (come i bugiardini dei medicinali, ti lasciano tante informazioni sparse senza aver poi capito effettivamente nulla di importante). L'unica soluzione era quella di progettare un calendario alternativo, con degli obiettivi e dei temi guida.

The idea of creating this calendar was born for a fairly banal reason. Returning to my humble abode, I realized that on my desk there was a calendar of a pharmacy. The classic calendars with a thousand little useful information and displayed in a messy way. At which point, I set out to find a calendar that would go well with the general style of my office and my home, but most of the calendars found were not very motivating, they were simply providing directions for the 365 days of the current year (like the medicine liars, they leave you with a lot of information without actually understanding anything important). The only solution was to design an alternative calendar, with objectives and guiding themes.

Intendiamo troppo spesso riferirci ad esso in termini di secondi, minuti, ore. Misuriamo il tempo che passa in base agli impegni di cui sono fatte le nostre esistenze finendo per perdere l’ attimo fuggente, quello che cogli solo se rallenti fino a fermarti per prendere fiato da quella corsa senza freni che è diventata la nostra quotidianità.

We too often mean to refer to it in terms of seconds, minutes, hours. We measure the time that passes according to the commitments of which our lives are made, ending up losing the fleeting moment, the one that you take only if you slow down until you stop to take your breath away from that unbridled race that has become our daily life.

Solo intersecando passato e presente e comprendendoli si può giungere al futuro. Si tratta di collegare le nostre storie su un continuum per capire chi siamo ma anche cosa siamo stati e come vorremmo essere.

Only by intersecting past and present and understanding them can we reach the future. It’s about connecting our stories on a continuum to understand who we are but also what we’ve been and how we want to be.
