Project 8: Invitations

SO, as you can probably (hopefilly) tell, I chose to design a birthday invitation for my favorite celebrity, Amy Poehler. I first was introduced to her awesomeness on SNL, of course, but once I saw Baby Mama for the first time, I was sold. I think I could recite every line in the movie. Not ashamed.

I wanted to do something bright and snarky at the same time. I also decided on a bowling party because hey, why not. I tried to make the copy fun and Amy-like by using some of my favorite quotes from Parks and Rec and of course, Baby Mama. This was my first time trying my hand at a neon light effect and thought myself pretty funny for including a burnt out light on the envelope. I chuckled.

Anyway, hope you like my invitation! It was only after I was done that I realized I forgot the best quote that should have gone on the RSVP card.

"I would rather be at Arby’s cuz there’s better food and cooler people there!"
