Ayla Candles is the brand behind Mar, a masseuse and artisan from Barcelona focused on the personal care for women.
The pack of soy candles "Dona." was created to accompany women during their menstrual cycle, devising a meditation system that mixes senses to connect with their inner essence.

We focused on an aesthetic that would show the manual process through the lines and materials. Four illustrations for four candles in which each one represents a type of woman in different states of mind.

Logo: The "Ayla" brand (already existing) had to coexist with its "Dona" sub-brand so it was important to find a type that coexisted in harmony but had enough elegance and personality to stand out on the shelf.
Colours: Make-up shades on recycled materials to transmit both the values of the brand (care for the environment and social responsibility) and those of the product (delicacy, naturalness, sincerity and closeness).
Style: We wanted a natural, close, serene and sincere image.
Pencil drawings of naked woman (fragile but strong and evocative) in contact with nature. The simplicity of an irregular stroke in contrast with colored backgrounds enhanced by the texture of recycled paper.
Soy Handmade Candles: Each candle represents and accompanies the woman in a phase of her menstruation: The maiden (follicular phase), the scholar (menstruation), the mother (ovulation) and the wild (luteal phase).
We also see the phases of the moon and the flowers used in the mixture both in drawing and color.
Illustration: In order to minimize the number of elements to be produced, we decided that the illustrations of the candles should work both individually and together. This group composition would be used in a postcard that, on the back, would have the instructions (the buyer can frame it, keep it or even give it away, thus avoiding its elimination).
Packaging: Recycled and local materials were selected for all the pieces.
Boxes, wrappers and stickers are designed with the main brand logo and details (Ayla Candles) to be used interchangeably in all shipments: We do not produce anything that is not essential.
