QuickDraw is a combat robot built to damage its opponents through the use of a drum spinner and piercing claw. It won first place in HackBerry Lab's first ever combat robotics competition!
Cardboard Prototype: We began conceptualizing our bot by building it out of chipboard and configuring the electronics.
We then wanted to test the functionality of our weapons, so we began to 3D print several different components to help aid us in understanding the functions of our bot.
Metal Fabrication: After deciding on our final design, we modeled our bot in Fusion360 and plasma cut each piece out of 16 gauge steel. We welded these pieces together to construct the chassis and claw arm of our robot. We used a metal pipe to create the drum, and welded plasma cut teeth onto it.
