This piece is based on an article by the NY Post titled, "How social media is literally making teens mentally ill". It's an interesting read where the article highlights how girls are generally more affected by social media than guys, so I decided to create a female character detoxing from social media. Since makeup brands see a lot of their revenue from social media marketing, I surrounded this character with makeup and styled her in a way that helps her stand out against the background and make her somewhat fashionable.
