Office Fit out Project

Office Fit out Project - Final Year Technical Project at QUT
This final year project was the culmination of the theoretical and technical Interior Design skills that I had developed in my degree, applied to a real-world commercial design scenario. This project demonstrates my understanding of space planning, national planning codes, technical interior systems and professional drawing conventions of Interior Design Practice.

This project is divided into two sections. In this first section, I was to evaluate three Brisbane-based office tenancies and suggest the most appropriate selection to the client based on their company's requirements which was summarized in a Proposal Letter. I was then tasked with designing the Interior Fit out and producing the relevant construction documentation. This involved space planning considering Fire Access and Egress as per the NCC. I also selected and documented office furniture using real-world suppliers, summarized in a Furniture schedule. This project tasked me to design a joinery piece using Model-in-place in Revit and create a full render of the proposed office fit out.

The second set of drawings demonstrates my research and understanding of interior systems including partition systems and ceiling systems. The drawing set includes more complex drawing types including a demolition plan, partition plan, partition details, RCP and ceiling detail drawing. Accompanying schedules with these drawings demonstrate my proposed selection which were thoroughly researched to demonstrate my understanding of interior systems that I can expect to use in industry.

The construction drawings in this project were completed entirely using Revit Software. Supplementary documents including the Proposal Letter and Schedules were created using Microsoft Word.
