Engage Rollercoaster TVC

Engage TVC was visualized by Vinil Mathew as an innocent walk with fate, where two strangers meet each other through multiple instances of coincidences.
But when everything happens so suddenly, you need to be at your A game & smell like your A game.
LOCATION
1st pick for this TVC was not Imagica, in-fact it was not supposed to be shot in India only. After checking with permissions and bringing the entire film to a reasonable budget we found ourselves at Imagica. Rolling at 9:30 AM for a 7:30 AM scheduled shoot, chasing sun & handling kids and a long list of featured cast.
Recce was an eye opener for us. The sun was fast, the park crowded & art incomplete. We had to plan the location out, figure out the shots from the storyboard and how to get the two rides synced for our shot.
To capture the busyness of an amusement park, we needed a lot of movement in the frame. We managed to achieve it using neon signs and colored shades. And some kids in the frame who will stay still for absolutely no one.
Some other good additions were a giant ride in the background, a popcorn corner, flashy retro car and some good folks at the diner.
ART MOCK UP
Lighting references were a pain for us to figure out. We couldn`t figure out what was the exact look that the director needed. The briefs were changing constantly. It makes sense from a creative perspective. When you see a look in front of you and imagine your film in that look, its very difficult to not change it if you don`t like it.
However, this problem continued in the post production of the film. The grade changed everyday, sometimes twice a day.

Chasing the sun was a new experience on set. Managing continuity when the winds howling at your leads hair every second, trains your eye to petite details in the frame.
